The New York State Office of Victim Services and the CUNY Institute for State and Local Governance present:
Empowering Front Line Workers and Survivors of Trauma
Advocates and case managers are often the first source of hope and support for survivors on their journey to safety and recovery; they are also on the front line of a system of injustice, entrusted with the task of helping survivors navigate their way into and out of a labyrinth of difficult choices. Join us for an informative webinar, designed to empower advocates and case managers with knowledge and tools to lessen the impact of witnessing trauma and increase a sense of efficacy and competence. Together we’ll cover the importance of understanding complex trauma, providing trauma-informed services, with a focus on working with survivors of polyvictimization, and the parallel process of self-preservation for healers and those in need of healing.
