Studies estimate that as many as 25 percent of American men have suffered sexual abuse in their lives. Most victims suffer trauma without reporting the abuse or obtaining help to heal from it. This event will shed light on the complex nature of male sexual abuse, discuss ways to reduce the stigma of reporting and work through ways to improve access to help for victims.
The summit will also feature:
- Keynote presentation by award-winning New York Times columnist Chales M. Blow.
- A panel of male surviors of sexual assault.
- A solutions-focused round table of experts in the fields of victim advocacy, law enforcement, psychology, media and more.
