About the Mass Violence Response Council

The Mass Violence Response Council (MVRC) assists in addressing immediate and long-term needs experienced by victims, survivors, and those impacted by mass violence events. Along with other stakeholder partners, the MVRC will also address challenges and gaps related to mass violence response. The council will establish objectives and goals through a trauma-informed, victim centered and collaborative solution lens. The council also seeks to expand collaboration and mass violence preparedness efforts amongst NYS agencies and with local stakeholders.

The MVRC is made up of approximately 34 members determined by the Office of Victims (OVS) Director. They are represented by State Agencies and Victim Assistance Organizations as it relates to mass violence and mass violence response. All members serve as ex-officio members based on their position and/or organization.
