NEW: New York State Office of Victims Services partnership aims to survey the civil legal service needs of crime victims in New York.
The New York State Office of Victims Services has partnered with the Center for Human Services Research at SUNY Albany (CHSR), Empire Justice Center, and Probono.net to survey the civil legal service needs of crime victims in New York State outside of the New York City area, and to develop systems and resources for providing those services such as through an on-line network.
As part of this work, and to gain a better understanding of the current landscape of civil legal services, CHSR has developed a survey that will help inform the development of an on-line network of civil legal services to better meet the needs of victims of crime, among other service options.
In order to get the most comprehensive information about civil legal services for crime victims in our target areas, partners need your help in completing and sharing this Crime Victim Survey: https://albanychsr.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_emwrQTr4u7Ze7Gt.
OVS hope to understand the broad landscape of currently available services for many different types of victimization-domestic violence, assault, burglary, identity theft, DUI accident, elder abuse, and others, as well as the gaps and needs in the system.
Thank you for your help. If you have further questions, please contact Dr. Susan Dietzel, lead research project manager at firstname.lastname@example.org or 518-591-8796.
